A county helicopter will transport a new lifeguard tower from the Bayfront beach area closest to the Wailoa river entrance to Honolii Beach Park on Wednesday morning, according to a Fire Department statement.
The existing tower at Honolii also will be removed by helicopter, taken to Bayfront, and dismantled.
Both beaches will be closed Wednesday from 7 a.m.-12:30 p.m. to allow for the work, and the Fire Department requests the public stay away from both locations during that time.
